Big, Hairy, Audacious, Goals are OVERWHELMING. Gotta do it like New Kids On The Block and take it Step by Step.
Don't know about you guys, but I've been seeing all these other bloggers, investors, etc. doing the damn thing. Writing 3 posts a week, crushing debt like their lives depended on it, adding 100+ unit apartment buildings to their rental portfolios, getting thousands of page views and bringing in some serious affiliate cash. All the while I'm just sitting here like "I want that" - but i just have to remind myself that no one did this overnight! Also need to remember that I'm only competing with the person who I was yesterday. This is my journey.
Bad enough I'm worrying about everyone else, but the 2018 goals I set for my self are pretty hard to swallow. For my photo booth rental biz: I want to buy another booth, come up on a pair of selfie mirrors, design at least 50% of our own templates/green screens AND generate at least $72k in revenues. For 30nFree: I want at least 2k monthly page views, at least 1k monthly unique visitors, at least 3 guest posts on my site, $250 freelance gig every month AND remain active on social media with my fellow FIRE geeks. For me: I want to pay off my car, carry $0 CC balance at the beginning of every month, save $30k for a down payment on a rental property, AND increase my yearly salary by $10k.
What is one thing I can do today?
After a bit of brain wracking and stressing, I realized that I needed to focus on one. I even went back and reread Cait Flanders' post on slow growth and remaining true to you. I've been asking myself the following questions: How can I get one booking for my photo booth biz? How can I design one template? How can I get one unique visitor to my site? How can I make one dollar from my blog? Where can I find one dollar to pay off my debt or save for a rental property?...ultimately "What is one thing I can do today to get me where I want to be?"
What big goal have y'all been trying to tackle all out once? Let me know in the comments below! You know what they say: "The best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time."
